Removing the crankshaft seal with the QT9020 & QT9302

Cummins Rear Crankshaft Seal Kit  Quickly & easily replace that leaky rear crankshaft seal on your 1989-'07 Cummins engine without damaging the new seal!  No need to remove the flywheel housing or seal adapter! Includes CNC machined aluminum installer tool, guide studs, self tapping screws, drill bit, new Teflon lip seal with seal starter, Threadlocker, anti-seize, and seal adapter centering guide.  In addition to setting the seal square and to the correct depth, the installer can be used to press on crankshaft wear sleeves!  Made in U.S.A.  Tech Note:  With this kit there is absolutely no need to remove the flywheel housing and rear seal adapter.  However if for any reason, you do need to remove the rear seal adapter from the back of the block, we do include a stamped steel ring to center the rear seal adapter.  We also stock the rear seal adapter gasket.

Clutch Pivot Ball Kits  Chances are if you need a clutch, you also need a new clutch pivot ball and on 1994-up models a new fork retaining spring.  These handy kits include both a new ball  plus Threadlocker and a packet of synthetic disc brake lube, which we have found to be very effective as a clutch fork lubricant.  QK6005 also comes with the fork retaining spring.  Made in U.S.A.  Limited Supply!

Torque King TK75 Extreme Duty Ball Pilot Bearing for mega-horsepower Cummins powered trucks with the NV5600 6 speed transmission.  Specifically designed as a Clutch Pilot Bearing. Extra large bearing with thick, flanged, 85,000 psi tensile strength bronze alloy insert protects the inner race from shock loads, plus it won't damage the input shaft.  Fully sealed with Viton Hi-temp seals rated for up to 400°F .  Lubricated with high-temperature grease which resists run-out even on hot summer days. Flywheel modification required. Due to the increased rolling resistance of this large bearing, we do not recommend it for any NV4500 applications. Made in U.S.A.

Heavy Duty Ball Pilot Bearing features thicker bearing races than regular bearings of it's size.  Compare the QU51010 bearing on the left to the standard ¾" bore bearing on the right.  Pre-lubricated and fully sealed for long life.  We strongly recommend this bearing as the minimum upgrade for all diesel and V10 applications, particularly if your engine has increased horsepower.  Far outlasts any other bearing or bushing we've tried except for our Torque King™ bearings. Your flywheel will need to be bored by a machine shop to accept this fine bearing.  Imported.  Will not fit V8 applications.

QU10558 Stock Needle Pilot Bearing with seal lips to both sides.  This is the current production replacement bearing supplied by Dodge and in our 1994-2005 clutch kits.  It replaced an earlier version that was only sealed to one side.  Pre-lubricated with grease.  This bearing works reasonably well with a stock engine, although it will rarely last the life of the clutch.  Fits 1994-2005 Cummins & V10 flywheels without modification.  Can be retrofitted to 1989-'93 trucks if the flywheel is bored.  Made in U.S.A. 1994-2005 with Cummins Diesel and Gas V10 $12

Kevlar Pilot Bushing from South Bend Clutch. We do not offer this bushing as it has proven to short lived.  Our experience with this (and all other pilot bushing types) bushing has been poor.  If you have one of these, we recommend you replace it with a ball pilot bearing.

Bronze Pilot Bushing is stock replacement for 1989-1993 Cummins trucks.  The only thing good we have to say about this bushing is it fits stock flywheels.  We sell a few of these every year, but like all bushings, they have a tendency to quickly wear out in dusty/dirty conditions.  Failure of these stock type bushings are a major cause of Getrag transmission problems.  Folks, we don't recommend you use this or any other pilot bushing with your Cummins, but if you need one, here it is.  Made in U.S.A.

Transmission Mount Kits are original equipment quality.  We tried the cheaper Asian mounts sold by parts stores, but they just don't seem to hold up.  Yes, these kits will cost more then the Brand X sold at your corner parts store, but their durability and long life makes them worth the money.  All kits include 242 Threadlocker.  Made in Canada and/or U.S.A..

ATTENTION!

In order to meet surging demand for other products we offer, we are discontinuing the sale of SOUTH BEND and all other clutch brands as of January 17, 2008.  

We are leaving the following descriptions and technical information on this webpage for your reference.  If you need a clutch for your Dodge, please contact South Bend Clutch at 1-800-988-4345. 

Clutches:  Each kit includes clutch disc, clutch cover, pilot bearing/bushing, clutch release bearing assembly, clutch alignment tool, Threadlocker, anti-seize, dielectric grease. 

ConO clutches feature organic facings with very smooth engagement.  ConOFE clutches have an organic facing on one side and a feramic facing on the other.  They have a near stock clutch engagement with very high torque ratings.  ConFE clutches have full feramic facings on the disc. FE clutches are a little abrupt on engagement, but still much smoother than competitive ceramic clutches.

To provide the longest clutch life, we recommend you choose a clutch with a 50hp reserve capacity.  For instance, in our shop we use the MU0090R 350 hp rated clutch for engines up to 300 hp so our customers have a little extra grip as the clutch wears and clamp pressure decreases.  For all clutches you have the choice of several pilot bearing/bushing options.  All our replacement clutch kits come with the stock bearing (1994-2004) or bushing (1989-1993).  We strongly recommend you upgrade to our QU51010, (included with 13" Retrofit Kits) Special Heavy Duty Ball Pilot Bearing.  or better yet to one of our Torque King™ Ball Pilot Bearings.  We also carry the stock 13" Sachs B&B unit for 1989-'93 Cummins Turbo-Diesel trucks.  South Bend Clutch Kits are assembled in U.S.A. of domestic and imported parts.
