  1969-1970 W100 Closed Knuckle Front Axle Used Inner Axle Shafts are in really nice condition. We have a limited supply of both inner shafts.  Shafts are measured from center of u-joint hole to end of spline.  Shafts take a 5-74X internal c-clip universal joint. Hole diameter: 1.062", distance between yoke ears (lockup dimension) 2.188". If you have one of these classic vintage Dodge trucks, don't delay ordering because when these shafts are gone, they're gone!

Closed Knuckle Parts
We stock the regular service closed knuckle parts for your 1959-1973 Dodge W-100 or W200 Power Wagon® 4x4 with a standard closed knuckle Dana 44 front axle which will have 8 bolt Knuckle Ball Hemisphere Seals. With a Closed Knuckle axle, the axle universal joints and king pin bearings are lubricated by very heavy oil or a viscous grease that will flow when the axle shafts rotate. A large multi-piece seal is bolted to the backside of the steering knuckle to keep lubricant in and water out. On poorly maintained closed knuckle axles or axles equipped with lockout hubs that are rarely used in 4x4, the upper king pin bearing and axle universal joint can suffer from lack of lubrication. The Ball Seals will usually weep some lubricant especially when standard gear oils are used as a lubricant. Submersion of the axle under water or condensation from temperature changes can cause moisture to build up inside the enclosed ball and lead to corrosion damage and part failures. Differential and Pinion Bearings (Individual)
There was a Dodge Dana 44 differential Side Bearing change which according to Dana was effective with at least some 1967 and 1968 model year vehicles. My Dodge parts books however, list the change over year as 1969 so you will need to verify your bearing size for 1967 and 1968 trucks.
All bearings are not created equal for fit or durability, so we only stock first class, long lasting, Timken® Differential and Pinion Bearings for your Dana front axle. Timken® was and is a a major original equipment supplier of top-notch bearing components to Dana Spicer. Since I first started rebuilding Dana axles in the mid 1970's, I have found Timken® Bearings to be the most consistent in relation to the published dimensions of any bearing on the market which makes rebuilding an axle right the first time a WHOLE lot easier! Spindles and Spindle Nuts
Dodge used both hex and round spindle nuts on standard Dana 44 closed knuckle front axles. As far as I have been able to determine, all the W-100 1/2 ton trucks up through 1968 and all the W-200 3/4 ton models through 1971 will have external mount hubs and use hex nuts with a bend over tab lockwasher. 1969 to 1971 W-100 models with internal splined wheel hubs use a 3 piece round spindle nut set with 4 slot nuts. QU10576 Bend Over Tab Lock Washer for Dodge W-100, W-200 with Standard Dana 44 Front Axles fits 1957-1968 Dodge W-100 and 1957-1971 Dodge W-200 4x4 trucks with hex spindle nuts and external mount wheel hubs. Washer has two pre-bent tabs that fit a corner of the spindle nut and 6 bend-over tabs.
