TK40705 Torque King Drive Shaft U-Joint


TK40705 Torque King®Premium Quality Non-Greaseable Rear Driveshaft U-Joint has a cold-forged, alloy steel cross, superior seals, synthetic-lubricant and External Snap Rings. Fits many 1989-up Rear Driveshafts in Diesel or heavy-duty gas Chevy, Dodge, Ford, and GMC Class 3, 4, and 5 trucks. Meets or exceeds original equipment specifications for any North American built light truck that uses universal joints made to Spicer 1410 series dimensional specifications. Torque King® Universal Joints are assembled in U.S.A. using domestic and imported components which are primarily manufactured by Spicer.

Most U-Joint crosses are forged by one of two methods, either hot-forged or cold-forged. Cold-forged crosses are harder and more resistant to wear, but the process is costly compared to hot-forging. For certain applications, such as rear driveshaft u-joints on diesel trucks, the increased wear resistance of a cold-forged cross is very important. These Joints also have very effective o-ring type seals protected by a plastic deflector. The cold-forged cross, excellent seals, and high quality grease means this cold-forged u-joint should easily outlast any greaseable hot-forged universal joint on the market by a considerable margin. tech note

TK40705 is an external snap ring type universal joint made to Spicer 1410 series specifications. The u-joint cup diameter is 1-3/16". The overall width is 4-3/16". This universal joint will not properly fit late model Dodge and General Motors driveshafts made for the AAM 1415 series universal joint which has a 0.010" shorter overall width.
