Front Constant Velocity Driveshaft Parts for 2008-up Dodge Ram 4500 and Ram 5500 4x4 Trucks
We stock a complete line of Double Cardan front CV driveshaft parts for 2003  and newer Dodge Ram 2500, 3500, 4500 and Dodge Ram 5500 4x4 trucks. These Dodge 4x4s use a Double-Cardan Constant Velocity (CV) Joint at the transfer case end, and a conventional single Carden universal joint with a flange yoke and axle end for the Front Driveshaft's. While the basic configuration of the shafts is the same for all years, the actual components used will vary depending upon the year and engine/transmission combination.

Dan the Gear Man® Tech Note: The Tech Term "Cardan" refers to a conventional cross type universal joint. A Double-Cardan CV joint is a constant velocity joint that has two Cardan type universal joints as component parts. QU40803 Dodge Ram 4500, Ram 5500 CV Flange Yoke Assembly for 2008-2012 Dodge Ram 4500, Ram 5500 4x4 front drive Constant Velocity shafts.

QU40704 Dodge Ram 4500, Ram 5500 Press On Dust Seal for Double-Cardan Constant Velocity Joint for 2008-up Ram 4500, Ram 5500.  This seal helps protect the CV Ball and should be replaced any time the u-joints are changed.
QU40744 Dodge Ram 4500, Ram 5500 CV Ball Replacement Kit for 2003-current Ram 4500, Ram 5500 4x4 front driveshafts. If your CV Flange casting is OK, you can save money by replacing just the worn ball and seat with this part. Be advised you will need a 1"-1¼" blind hole bearing puller and a hydraulic press. Includes Ball-Needle/Bearings-Seat and spring.


QU40864 Dodge Ram 4500, Ram 5500 Greaseable Ball Stud Tub Yoke for 2008-2012 Dodge Ram 4500 and 5500 4x4 front constant-Velocity Driveshafts that have a Cup Diameter of 1-3/16". Includes QU40704 Dust Seal. The recessed lube fitting permits regular greasing of the Constant Velocity Ball.

 
QU40829 Dodge Ram 4500, Ram 5500 Replacement CV Grease Seal for 2008-2012 Dodge Ram 4500 and Ram 5500 4x4 front constant-Velocity Driveshaft's Double-Cardan CV Joint. This part is included in QU40744 Ball Kit and is part of QU40131 and QU40803 CV Flanges.
QU40835 Dodge Ram 4500, Ram 5500 Replacement CV Tension Spring for 2008-2012 Dodge Ram 4500 and Ram 5500 4x4 front constant-Velocity Driveshaft's Double-Cardan CV Joint. This part is included in QU40744 Ball Kit and with QU40131 and QU40803 CV Flanges.
Dan the Gear Man® Tech Note: The 1/2" diameter Centering Stud on your Ball Stud Tube Yoke (QU40864) MUST be in good condition to successfully rebuild your CV joint (See TSB3503, TM3000, or TM3318). If there is visible grooving or if the stud is worn more than 0.002"-.003" you will need to replace your Ball Stud Tube Yoke. While not difficult for a skilled machinist, this will require lathe work, welding, and straightening of the shaft. It is also strongly recommended you have the shaft rebalanced after assembly.
