Axle Universal Joints
We offer three different Universal Joints for your hard working 1984 to 1996 4x4 Bronco or F-Series 4x4 Truck with a Dana 44 solid front axle. All are good, reliable products, but different manufacturing techniques and seal types will have a major influence on the ultimate life of the joint. Our most popular choice is our TK40712 cold-forged, non-greaseable, original equipment replacement U-Joint. The wear-resistant cold-forged cross and superior sealing make it the best choice for both low maintenance and long life. QU40754 and QU90007 are hot-forged and are equipped with single lip seals. They are greaseable through a flush fitting threaded into one of the caps. With good maintenance and quality lubricant like our Pyroplex® Plus Grease, these joints will last and last. Differential Bearing and Seal Kits
All 1984 to 1996 Ford Broncos and F-150/F-250 4x4 trucks with Dana 44 Independent Front Suspension Twin Traction Beam® Front Axles use the same differential and outer pinion bearings. The Inner Pinion Bearings changed during the 1992 model year, so if you have a 1992 model, you must verify which Inner Pinion Bearing and Cup your axle has.
All bearings are not created equal for fit or durability, so we only stock first class, long lasting, Timken® Differential and Pinion Bearings for your Dana front axle. Timken® was and is a a major original equipment supplier of top-notch bearing components to Dana Spicer. Since I first started rebuilding Dana axles in the mid 1970's, I have found Timken® Bearings to be the most consistent in relation to the published dimensions of any bearing on the market which makes rebuilding an axle right the first time a WHOLE lot easier!
