QU40009 Dana Axle Pinion Lock Nut is a genuine Dana-Spicer original equipment replacement part that fits most Dana-Spicer Model 25, Model 27, Model 30, Model 44, Model 50, and Model 53 front or rear drive axles.
All metal nut is plated for corrosion protection.

These lock nuts are designed to be used only once. The locking ability of the nut is at it's maximum on the initial installation. When setting up an axle, I use the old nut until the pinion depth and pinion preload is set. I then apply medium strength Threadlocker (see S9978, S24200) to a new nut and install it with a 1-1/8" socket. See my color illustrated Technical Manual TM4400 Pinion and Differential Bearing Service on Dana-Spicer Monobeam Axles or your Factory Shop Manual for the correct torque or tightening procedure.
