Fits almost all 1979 to 1993 Dodge 3/4 and 1 ton trucks using Dana Spicer Model 60 and 70 full float rear axles. These wedges are installed by placing the wedge in the spindle slot tapping them into postion with a small hammer. The wedge will cut a slot in the plastic nut ring as it is installed.

QU40077 Spindle Nuts and QU40089 Spindle Nut Lock Wedges are "Single Use", genuine Dana Spicer original equipment components. These parts are designed to be installed once and only once. For safety reasons, you must discard both the nut and wedge if they are removed from the spindle for any reason. Both parts lose a percentage of their resistance to coming off when they are removed. You may hear of cases where this type of factory nut has come off while the truck was being driven. Invariably, these failures involve nuts and wedges that have been reused. I am not aware of a single instance of a properly installed new nut and wedge coming off like that. In my opinion, the original equipment nut design is as safe to use as our double nut sets as long as you follow the rules.
