U-Joint with 2 External and 2 Internal Snap Rings for 1999, cold-forged, alloy steel, non-greaseable factory synthetic-lubed front universal joint (slip yoke to axle pinion yoke) to replace the original conversion universal joint used by Dodge for early 1999 Dodge Ram 1500, Ram 2500, and Ram 3500 4x4 trucks (has 2 external snap rings for the slip yoke and 2 internal c-clips that fit against the inside of the pinion yoke). This is a special conversion universal joint used to adapt a driveshaft with a slip yoke made to external snap ring Spicer 1330 specifications to an axle with a pinion yoke made to fit Detroit Universal 7290 series internal c-clip u-joints.
Spicer 1330 external snap ring universal joints have 1-1/16" diameter cups and have a 3-5/8" overall width.
Detroit 7290 internal C-clip u-joints have 1-1/8" diameter cups and fit yokes with an inside measurement of 2-5/8"

The only original equipment use I know of for this special conversion u-joint was by Dodge for the front driveshaft to front axle coupling on early to mid production 1999 full size Ram 4x4 trucks. It can also be used for retrofitting any other Dodge application that requires coupling a 1330 series yoke to a 7290 series yoke such as when replacing the factory slip yoke on 1993-1998 4x4s with QU40701 Slip Yoke. |
